Here is a Redwood Dutch Door that I made over 20 years ago.
Unfortunately the clients didn't have time to re-oil the door ever spring.
A friend worked for these folks and offered to refinish the door.
We talked and since she didn't have to strip the finish
she hand sanded the exterior ........ and gave it 4 coats of
my varnish oil formula ....... and brought it back to life !!

Here is the door before refinishing

Still in great shape but is neglected and faded

The Redwood turns "silverfish" if not sealed with some form of finish

and ........ here is the same door after hand and machine sanding ....... and 4 coats of varnish oil

Redwood is a beautiful wood that is very durable

My doors should be re-oiled each spring ...... just wash it off and follow my instructions for applying the Varnish Oil and you're done in a couple of hours

The door stayed stable still works well.

Here is the inside ...... which stayed in good condition ..... it is the ultra-violate light that destroys any finish

Note: my joints are still tight .........
