Here is a dutch door I
build 24 years ago.
Redwood is a beautiful wood that is very
durable
This door was hand and
machine sanding ....... and then oiled with 4 coats of
varnish oil
My doors should be
re-oiled each spring ...... just wash it off and follow my
instructions for applying the Varnish Oil and you're done in
a couple of hours

The door stayed stable
still works well.
Here is the inside
...... which stayed in good condition ..... it is the
ultra-violate light that destroys any finish
Please Note: after 24
years .... my joints are still tight
.........

Here is the door before
refinishing
Still in great shape
but is neglected and faded
The Redwood turns
"silverfish" if not sealed with some form of
finish

..... tight joints
..... of course
sooo ....... they had
this sculptor on their land and decided to see what the
varnish oil would do for it
....... here is the
result after 1 coat of varnish oil !! ....... three more
coats were applied.
