The are called The Middle Ridge Doors
They are 42" x 80" x 1-3/4" thick
The doors are ribbon grain VG Mahogany constructed
with book matched Old Growth figured Redwood Panels.
There is no stain ... simply 4 coats of varnish oil !!

Here I scanned some of the off cuts of the lumber used in the doors

Each door has 4 coats of varnish oil
the oil soaks in for over an hour before wiping off the excess
and the cure for at least 4 days between coats

Here the bookmatched panels are being hand sanded
and stops are precut for the panels
the class is clear, tempered, and insulated
the panels are oiled Before they are placed in the door ....... 4 coats

all are a bookmatch and beautiful
the panels "float" in the frame and are caulked in with a siliconized latex that turns clear
here we are making the jambs out of Mahogany
they are made of two pieces of 1" material
