An Important Note:
All of the door (framework) came from One Old Growth Redwood Tree.
When I acquired this lumber, 4 or 5 years ago, I marked the end of each board
with the
green dot on each board so that I would remember this tree.
The wood is Amazing with a gentle "cloud" of figure in each board.

I resawed this board to make the arched top for the jambs
we sawed them down to about 5/16"
then sanded them

204.jpg
205.jpg
206.jpg
and glued them back up in the arch of the door
here is the door laid up and ready to glue up
we clean all the joints while it is freshly glued up

Here I am making a template off of the head stock of the jamb
I took that template and cut the door to match the template
I mated the top of the door to the template, exactly

After sanding the door will be oiled 4 times with our varnish oil
Here is the "cloud" figure that is in this beautiful wood

such rich grain just compliment the doors' design
here the curly Redwood panels are beginning their life in my vacuum press
and here they come to life with 4 coats of varnish oil

here is the glass before it is installed
it is dual pain for insulation
Here I'm gapping the top of the door while I was pre-hanging the door

224.jpg
It is a perfect fit
I add a Mahogany dowel for alignment to assemble the jambs
we pre fit and cut each stop

the glass is "bedded" with a siliconized latex
and the stops are set in place
and then the dentil-shelf is added
