This door and sidelight are constructed of Honduras Mahogany
with old growth Redwood panels
the door is 42" x 80" and the sidelight is 20" wide
the beautiful custom glass is created by April Zilber

HERE IS HOW IT WAS CONSTRUCTED

The wood is "ruffed out" and allowed to settle down for 2 weeks

The wood is then planed to thickness and cut to size

It is then machined and each piece is hand fitted

Here is the door glued up, where it will remain for 4 days for the glue to cure properly

Just hanging' out curing 72 hrs between 4 coats of my varnish oil

The entry door is inspected and finish sanded

The dentil shelf is fitted

the dentils are mortised and glued to the door
