The hardware may look crooked ..... oh Yeah ..... it is!

bur it all works

here is the deadbolt with keys

the deadbolt has a bronze cover

the handset and deadbolt are oil rubbed bronze on solid brass

The blanks were cut out of a recycled sheet of aluminum

this sheet came from a salvaged fishing vessel

It was pretty hard to cut ....it is 1/4" thick

we used a carbide blade that "gave its' life" so that the backing plate could live !

Here is the stock for the back plate

the basic shape was achieved with a saber saw with a few metal blades

then the hand hand shaping work began

it took about 12 hours to shape and chamfer the 2 backing plates

they are perfectly flat and turned out very nice

All of the hardware is functional

the inside looks the same

except the deadbolt has a thumb turn on the inside

this covers the keyed deadbolt
